Co-Enzyme Q10

Co-enzyme Q10 is an important molecule used in the production of energy. Through a series of chemical reactions called the electron transport system Co-enzyme Q10 helps to produce ATP which translates into energy for the cell. This is especially important for organs that require large amounts of energy to function correctly such as the liver, heart and kidneys. As we get older the ability to supply Co-enzyme Q10 begins to deteriorate. Supplementing this nutrient may be beneficial in individuals who are in this category. It has recently also been theorized that Co-enzyme Q10 may beneficial in preventing congestive heart failure.
